The Valley of Jalon, also known as the Valle del Pop, represents one of the most popular and admired views at the heart of the Costa Blanca.  The valley consists of a combination of large flat areas of vines and almonds, which contrast against the figure of the mountains surrounding them. With it's excellent weather and environment the Jalon Valley is an ideal location for your holiday and is less than 10 kilometres from the beautiful beaches of Jávea. In the Winter months the Costa Blanca, similar to the Algarve, is fortunate enough to have nearly as many sunny days as in the summer, making this area worth a visit at any time of the year. Lush grapevines cover the fields, and you may spot some riu-raus, the traditional arched porches used for drying grapes to make raisins.

 

The Jalon Valley> also has a wealth of almond trees, and the many varieties of almond cakes and biscuits are another temptation to indulge in - catch the Jalon Valley in late January when the whole valley is covered in a magnificent pink and white blanket of almond blossom.

   
Nestled in the centre of the Jalon Valley is the village of Jalon itself. Jalon is a quiet town surrounding its' famous church with a shiny silver dome. As far back as 1472, its residents sent their wines to the court of Valencia and began selling a new product - raisins! Look out for the bakery called La Vicentica, which turns out tasty fresh bread and cakes - a good place to try the cocas (pizzas) and pastries typical of the area.
